Frequently Asked Questions

At Headwaters Veterinary Hospital, we are always available by phone to answer your questions. Some more general issues are addressed here.

I’m new to the area, and looking for a veterinarian. Are you taking new patients?
Yes! We are always happy to have new patients.
What forms of payment do you take?
We take all major credit cards, checks and cash. We do accept pet insurance.
Do you have payment plans?

We offer Care Credit which allows you to make payments for six months at zero percent interest.

My pet had procedures done at another hospital. Are you willing to provide aftercare?
Yes. We are glad to provide aftercare for procedures done at specialty hospitals, universities or other facilities.
How do I get my pet’s medical records transferred?
We are happy to assist you in transferring your records to or from our hospital. We can make the calls, or walk you through the process.
I’m traveling with my pet’s or livestock. Do I need travel papers?
Yes! We are happy to provide the necessary paperwork for air or ground travel.
Something is wrong with my animal. Can I speak to a veterinarian on the phone to find out what’s wrong?
We make every effort to let you speak to a veterinarian. Most, if not all, cases need to be seen to make an accurate diagnosis.
Do I need to make an appointment?
To prevent long waits, we do ask you to make an appointment. We always see emergencies without an appointment.
I like consistency. Can I always see the same vet?
Absolutely. We understand the special bond between you, your animals and their doctor.
Do you take walk-in appointments?
We do take walk-ins, with the understanding that there may be a wait time.
Do you see exotics?
We do not see exotics at Headwaters Veterinary Hospital.
